During the Indra Jatra festival in Kathmandu, women jostled to drink homemade rice liquor from the mouth of the Swet Bhairav deity. Also called Yenya, this lively and deeply spiritual celebration has been held in the Kathmandu Valley since the 10th century to honor Lord Indra, the Hindu god of rain and king of heaven.
