Dr. Krishnanand is highly proficient scholar in the field of research and academics in Geography and environment. As a student he was inquisitive and always looked for innovative solutions to even the most basic issues. That inquisitive nature translated very well into his career as an educator and research scholar. He has been up to date with all the advancements in his field of research and academics and has used technology to not only research but also to impart education to students. He has a passion for teaching the students, instilling in them the love for the subject and grooming them for the future endeavours.
Dr. Krishnanand graduated from Shaheed Bhagat Singh College, University of Delhi. He was awarded “best student of the college across all disciplines” in 2009 and “Gold medal” in 2010. He completed his Ph.D from Department of Geography, Delhi School of Economics, University of Delhi.
He has teaching experience of over 9 years in the field of Geography, Environment, Disasters and Civil Services examination (UPSC- GEOGRAPHY).
Dr. Krishnanand is a specialist in Cold Desert Mountain Ecosystem. His Ph.D work is the maiden attempt by any Indian to map Geodiversity in the Trans-Himalayan region. He is an avid field researcher and photographer with two Geographical Documentaries to his credit- Exploring Ladakh- A Geoecological Perspective and Spiti Valley Project. His areas of interest include Geomorphology, Geoecology, Geotourism, Environmental Geography, Geodiversity, Geomorphosites, Fossil park, Geoparks, Field Work and Documentary Making in Geography, Remote Sensing and Geographic Information System (GIS) and GPS.
Dr. Krishnanand has worked as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Geography, at Shaheed Bhagat Singh College, University of Delhi from 2013 till 2019 and also has been a former Senior Research Fellow, at Department of Geography, Delhi School of Economics. He has participated in several international and national conferences, seminars and workshops.
He was the only Indian and South -Asian to represent at the Geodiversity Training and Workshop Program, organized by International Association of Geomorphologists and Polish Academy of Sciences, Poland in August, 2019.
He has been recognised and was awarded the scholarship as an Early Career Scientist by European Geosciences Union for Eurogeo-2021 conference to be held at Vienna, Austria.
He has been selected as one of the ten members from all round the world (only one from India) at prestigious International Research Council (IRC) Scientific and Technical Committee & Editorial Review Board on Humanities and Social Sciences at Copenhagen, Denmark in 2020.
His work on Geoheritage and Geotourism in Trans-Himalaya has been recognised by Oxford University and he delivered a talk in Oxford Geoheritage Virtual Conference (OXGVC), 25-29 MAY, 2020. It was convened by the Oxford University Museum of Natural History.
Dr. Krishnanand has published three books and six articles at National and International levels.
